Southern England, c'mon, you guys never get snow! :P

Still, if you aren't accustomed to driving in it, it can be harrowing. If it's only a car and cancelled plans, it won't make much difference in the long run. Enjoy your holidays anyhow!

Jeff,

I know that it's second hand but I think that I have found you a suitable replacement vehicle in Lincolnshire.

Thank you everyone, I am slowly getting my head together now and you must know our roads around here ETR because as Lauren said, we DO need a tank because the roads are disgraceful.

I had to walk this morning to meet the recovery lorry and I saw what I had hit and I can only say that I was lucky. Despite only going between 10 and 15MPH because of the camber and the bend in the road I was sent directly towards a wall but I managed to avoid it and hit the kerb and went along it. The damage is broken front bumper, broken steering rack and 1 damaged wheel. It could so easily have been worse especially if someone else was involved, it has shaken me up a lot though.
When I was in the recovery lorry being taken to the garage I was talking to the driver and he told me of one woman yesterday, she had driven off the main road and down an embankment to the bottom and fortunately for her the car was totally unscathed. However while they were winching it back up onto the road another vehicle went off the road straight into it which wiped out both cars. Now that is bad luck.

Jeff... I know what the roads are like, I drove a little bit on them last summer when we were over there. Very narrow, full of bumps and pot holes.

Guess that's why my son-in-law drives an SUV that is kind of like a hummer, can't remember the name of it. It does have crash bars on the front.
