Hello again. The search came up clean but still my avast points out the same viruses. Maybe something wrong with avast? I need to make a purchase on a internetshop soon and i dont know if its safe for me to pay with my creditcard. Maybe better to go to an internetcafe to do the purchase.

Hi tempo..
When avast "finds" this, does it give a file path to it's location??

Lets do a scan with TDSS Killer by Kasperskey..it specifically targets alureon (AKA TDSS) and is 64 bit compatible!

Please click HERE and follow the instructions given.
Let me know the result..

If you really need to use a credit card online, I suggest using a trusted friend or relatives' computer.
I certainly wouldn't use an internet cafe or any other public computer for that!

Fred...

Hi tempo..
That's good news, avast is just picking up an infected System Restore point.. would only reinfect the system if you restored to it and is easily sorted out!
Apart from that there doesn't appear to be any active infection left on your computer..

Create a System Restore Point
  • Right-click on Computer ... select Properties.
  • In the left pane under Tasks ... click System protection.
If UAC prompts for an administrator password or approval, type the password or give your "permission to continue".
  • Select System Protection ...then choose Create.
  • In the System Restore dialog box, type a description for the restore point ... click Create, again.
A window will pop up with "The Restore Point was created successfully" confirmation message.
  • Click OK ...then close the System Restore dialog.
Now you have a clean restore point to use if you need to restore your system.

Perform Disk Cleanup
Note: You have to have administrative rights to run Disk Cleanup for "All" users.
  • Click the Vista Start... button. Type disk in the Start Search text entry box.
  • Double click the Disk Cleanup entry, from the matching program list.
  • In the Disk Cleanup options...select "Files from all users on this computer"
If the Disk Cleanup: Drive Selection dialog box appears:
    • Select the drive where Windows Vista is installed. (Normally, this would be C:\ drive)
    • Press the "OK"...button.

Disk Cleanup will begin space saving calculations.
  • When the calculations are finished... Press the More Options tab.
  • In the "System Restore and Shadow Copies" section... select "Clean up" button.
  • Press the "Delete"... button, at the "Are you sure..." prompt.
Disk Cleanup will begin cleaning up old files and restore points.
  • Exit Disk Cleanup.
This will remove all restore points except the one you just created.

This should work on Windows 7 I believe, but let me know if you have any problems..

Thanks
Fred..
