lognrun.com is available and so is lognroll.net

Either of those sounds good to me. Not sure if .com or .net would be better but that is a lot catchier than all the security, help, etc. ones. I kinda like it either of those.

For an abbreviation we have choices also.

LNR
L&R
etc.

Come on people, this is probably the most important issue on the site at the moment! ;)

I have yet to come up with any good ones.

MyTechStop?

I am seeing too many random name suggestions that are not even available, your suggestion included, Rawe. :)

Go to a site like GoDaddy and type in a name you have in mind to find out if it is available. Even if it isn't, other suggestions will be provided which may give you another idea.

http://www.godaddy.com/

Short & sweet: puterfixit.com ('Puter Fixit)

Continuing with the theme Gordon started: rawepc.com (Rawe PC) (This one already gives me ideas about forum names -- Rawe Security News, Rawe Help, Rawe Fixes, Rawe Fun)

I had the browser open with a half-finished post for several hours. Amazing what happens during that time & I hit the enter button for my post. :)

People tend to think of .com before .net.

(Example: My husband seems to think that if there is a website for a business it will be the same as the business name. As a result, he will say something like the following to me, "Corrine, go to doubleU doubleU doubleU XYZ company dot com. I want to know what kind of widgets they have." Fortunately, he does not have access to my computer.)

I also always thing of .com before .net first.

Some of us wanted to go with Peter's suggestion of rawecomputing right when we first started thinking about a name but Rawe doesn't want his handle in the name.

Log'N'Run . . . Where is Tinker? Bet this would get her thinking.

L&R is good. Then again, LogNrun isn't hard to say either -- short, memorable.

Yep, I agree, I like LogNRun more every time I see it. I think that was Kevin's suggestion. :)

Thanks Corrine, I have drawn a blank when it comes to names (but be sure I can sort out a banner, logo's etc when the decison is made  )

I like RaweComputing.. but if Rawe doesn't want his name involved I suppose it's out, does sound good tho B)

Please PM me for anything I can help with during/after the move :)

LognRoll.org and .net are free, but then again LognRun.com is free (and all the other domains for that one too).

LognRoll.com is some Chinese fastfood place/restaurant I think

Anyway, we could use other domain(s), namely .org and .net are nice ones. I like LognRoll more than LognRun. Quite a few popular sites use .org or .net anyway, so it doesn't really matter? Besides, lognrock.com will work for another two years so not sure if using another domain would matter in the end. Search engine optimization, site content, people etc. will do a bigger difference IMO.

I also like the sound of Log'N'Roll. However, it would be wise to consider the slang connotations: http://www.yourdictionary.com/roll (scroll down for idioms). It seems to also stick out in my mind an expression from television -- something like "roll the bum", in other words, to rob the person.

Log = the obvious, HJT and other logs
Run = the computer will run better after they're finished.

No strange connotations for run: http://www.yourdictionary.com/run

Log'N'Go
Log'N'Gone

P.S. I don't like the use of run in the name. Just too!......boring?

edit: added word - like

What if...

Log = the obvious, HJT and other logs
Run = they will run from the forum after their computer is better

And, LognRoll would be catchier, IMO. Rock'n'Roll -> Log'n'Roll

But, maybe that's just me (and Tinker). LognRun is catchy aswell, and they're quite similar, both of them are OK by me but I still like the other one best.
