Right-click a folder, click Properties on the Shortcut menu, then click Customize tab in the dialog box. Click Change Icon, browse your hard drive to select a new icon, and then click OK. Click Apply and you'll see your new icon.

Did you know that when you create any new folders, they're all represented by exactly the same icon? I admit they're quite boring. We can change their icons though:
Right-click a folder, click Properties on the Shortcut menu, then click Customize tab in the dialog box. Click Change Icon, browse your hard drive to select a new icon, and then click OK. Click Apply and you'll see your new icon.
