Scanning with SpyBot S&D How-to Scan with SpyBot

Now that you have installed SpyBot S&D, you're ready to run it for the first time.
  • You will get a legal disclaimer when you run SpyBot S&D the first time.
  • Check the box next to Don't show this message again and click Next.

  • You will then get the SpyBot S&D Wizard.
  • Click Create Registry Backup. It will take awhile.

  • Next you will be taken to the updater. Click on Search for Updates.
  • Choose a server and click on Continue.

  • Checkmark the box next to each update and click on Download.
  • Exit the SpyBot S&D Updater.

  • You will get the following notification - click on OK.

  • You will be taken back to the SpyBot S&D Wizard.
  • Click on Next if it still tells you to search for updates.

  • You should be on step 6 of 7 now.
  • Click on Immunize this system.

  • SpyBot S&D will start immunizing. It might take awhile.

  • Now you are finished with the SpyBot S&D Wizard. Click on Start using the program.

  • On the main menu of SpyBot S&D, click on Scan.
  • You might get the following prompt, if so, click on Yes.

  • SpyBot will fire up the scan. It'll take awhile - go grab yourself some pop'n'corn or a beer.

  • Once finished, checkmark the boxes next to all red entries.

  • Click on Fix selected problems.
  • You will get the following prompt. Click on Yes.

  • You'll get a notification of removal done. Click on OK.
